“Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother; and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.” (Zechariah 7:9-10)

FE Y JUSTICIA / NAVIGATE MN is a faith based, Latinx led organization, striving to bring justice and provide kindness and compassion to our community throughout Central Minnesota.

We work to educate, train leaders and identify services necessary to community members. Central Minnesota is largely rural and the Latinx community has been underrepresented in discussions of immigrant and refugee rights. Fe Y Justicia’s constituency can be found in towns throughout the counties of Central Minnesota including:

Stearns County: St. Cloud, Waite Park, Richmond, Rockville, Melrose, Cold Spring and

Paynesville | Sherburne County: Elk River | Morrison County: Little Falls | Todd County: Long Prairie | Otter Tail County: Perham and Pelican Rapids | Wright County: Monticello

In accordance with our beliefs, we advocate for:

JUSTICE

We work for the rights and dignity of our community members no matter their race, immigration status, gender, religion or identity.

COMMUNITY

We identify community members and provide support to those experiencing emergency situations and education to those desiring to know their rights

LEADERSHIP

We train community members to become leaders in their own right to carry on the goals of Faith and Justice throughout Central Minnesota.

ORGANIZATIONAL VISION

We envision a Central Minnesota where:

The Latinx community has a strong presence in community leadership and decision making.

The whole community values the contributions and respects the rights of the Latinx

Community

Members of the Latinx community advocate for themselves and others with strength and dignity.

Our priorities are providing justice for our people by negotiating a community contract with local Sheriffs, registering voters, providing informational clinics, and training new leaders.

Victories

Organize Public Service Clinics - These clinics are created to provide services that are not available to our community.

  • Health Clinic - In association with Central Care Health, we will provide those without access to health care an opportunity to speak with a health professional in a safe environment.

  • Immigration Clinic - To inform immigrants of the options available to them to secure an immigration status, work permits, or citizenship.

  • Know Your Rights Clinic - Train undocumented immigrants and their allies to know their rights in case they are confronted by law enforcement officers or members of ICE.

HealthCare For All- The state Legislature passed a healthcare spending bill that allows undocumented Minnesotans who meet income eligibility requirements to access MinnesotaCare, the state’s health insurance for low-income individuals and families.

Goals 2024-2028

Driver's Licenses For All: As a short-term goal, we plan to have community meetings in order to support and educate our community on the process of obtaining a driver's license.

Health Insurance For All: As a long-term goal, we plan to continue gathering information and providing updates to our community about the process of obtaining health insurance.

Immigration Reform: As a long-term goal, we plan to continue supporting an immigration reform that provides a path to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants.

Develop and implement a voter registration drive throughout Central Minnesota and register 500 new voters for 2024.

Identify and train potential leaders from the community to develop the skills to engage new members and accept responsibility for organizing in their communities.
